William Griffiths from Corby AC is the winner of the Dovedale Dash 2026 in a time of 28 mins and 47 secs. William wins the Izaak Walton Shield. Second is Mark Burley from Macclesfield Harriers & AC, winning the Dog and Partridge Tankard (29:07).
First Lady home is William's sister Elizabeth Griffiths from Corby AC in a time of
32 mins and 59 seconds winning the Peveril of the Peak cup. Catherine Williams
from Sinfin Running club is second lady winning the Cyril Challinor Shield (33:50).
The First Under 18 boys prize is also won by William Griffith winning the
Ian Hall Cup. Second is Oscar Blake from Derby AC (30:00). First Under 18 girl
is also Elizabeth Griffiths. She wins the Avanti Jewellers cup.
Second Under 18 girl is Meridith Carter from Staffs Moorland AC (36:38).
The Under 18s had a particularly strong year!
First Under 14 boy is George Doggett in a time of 38 mins and 25 secs. George wins the Mart Cup. Second is William Burrage-Jones (39:40). Similar to last year, Freya Ratcliffe from Derby AC is the first under 14 girl in a time of 37 mins and 53 secs. She wins the Hillcrest cup. Second is Poppy Hadnum from Staffs Moorland AC (38:22). Great times for the Under 14s as well!
First male over 60 and winner of the Dorris Allen Salver is John Watkins from Alsager Running Club in a time of 35 mins and 47 secs followed closely by James McMurtry from Ashbourne RC (35:58). First female over 60 is Sal Ryder from Great Yarmouth Road Runners 47 mins and 59 secs. Jane Perkin is second female over 60 (50:52).
First local Thorpe lady home and winner of the Matthew Parris Cup for the second year in a row is Ellie Barber in a time of 38 mins and 30 secs. First Thorpe man home and winner of the Bluebell Cup, dressed up as a Panda (!), is Chris Gunn in a time of 42 mins and 4 seconds. Well done!
In total 1,144 people finished the Dovedale Dash this year:

The children's race had 72 brave children running around Thorpe Cloud with the mighty Lin Dale climb at the end (just like the Main Dash). The under 9's children's race winner and eights overall is Reggie Mee from the Old Dog Runners in a time of 11 mins and 35 secs. Jasmine Jones from Hallamshire Harriers in Sheffield is the first Under 9's girl in 12 mins and 18 secs. The Under 12's race is won by Joel Morris in 9 mins and 32 sec. First Under 12 girl was Amelia Fletcher in 11 mins and 55 secs.
